Overview

The Latanie Precyzyjne system helps pilots develop detailed navigation skills, combined with competition. It is also a useful tool when preparing for aircraft navigation sports.

Registration and accounts are free. You only provide an e-mail address, callsign and password (we do not require a licence number or address details).

Every registered user has access to the pilot panel, where they can analyse their flights and use briefing tools.

With public live tracking (livetracking), spectators can follow pilots' flights in real time.

No pilot licence? You can still use the system. Register as a simulator pilot (SIM) and fly available events using Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020-2024).

Disciplines

Basic200

Basic200 is for pilots starting navigation training with a 1:200 000 scale map, and for those who want to improve accuracy along a given route.

The flight is flown in a corridor 0.5 NM wide (0.25 NM left and right of the route).

For each continuous excursion outside the corridor, the first 5 seconds give no points; each further second of that excursion is 1 point. The score is the sum of all scored corridor excursions during the flight. Fewer points is better.

Basic3D

Basic3D is for pilots who want to combine navigation training with a 1:200 000 scale map and keeping a declared altitude.

Before start the pilot declares flight altitude in feet (ft). The flight is flown in a corridor 0.5 NM wide (0.25 NM left and right of the route), and within a +/-200 ft sector around the declared altitude.

Corridor and altitude use the same scoring: for each continuous excursion (from the corridor or the altitude sector), the first 5 seconds give no points; each further second is 1 point. The score is the sum of all scored corridor and altitude excursions during the flight. Fewer points is better.

Disciplines for experienced pilots

PrecisionCup and Precision Pro are for pilots who already master navigation with a 1:200 000 scale map. The flight follows a set route of several legs joined by turning points. Timing gates are placed on the route: at the start (SP), at turning points (TP), on legs between points (SC), and at the finish (FP). Each gate is a line perpendicular to the route, centred on that point. The measurement sector of each gate is 0.5 NM left and right of the point. The score depends on how accurately gate times match your own flight plan. Before start, in the pilot panel you enter start time (SP, UTC), speed (TAS) and wind; the system generates a downloadable flight plan (PDF). That plan is used to mark the map (leg courses and gate times). Fewer points is better.

PrecisionCup

A precision route with gates. SC gates are visible on the map, and their planned crossing times appear in the flight plan (PDF). The system compares the plan with actual gate times from the tracklog.

Scoring: +/-5 second limit; each second outside the limit is 1 point; maximum 50 points per gate. A missed gate (skipped or outside the measurement sector) is 50 points.

On turns greater than 90 degrees the plan includes a procedural turn (+1 minute).

Precision Pro

Same flight and gate rules as PrecisionCup, with extra difficulty: SC gates are not shown on the printable map PDF, and the pre-flight plan (PDF) does not show SC times (only SP, TP and FP). Time penalties are higher.

Scoring: +/-2 second limit; each second outside the limit is 3 points; maximum 100 points per gate. A missed gate is 100 points.

After the flight, result details show SC gates with planned and actual passing times.

REAL Account

A REAL account is for pilots flying a real aircraft. Phone GPS position (Traccar Client app) is sent to the system, and the score is computed from the tracklog. Registration and the pilot panel are free.

  1. Registration (REAL type) - fill in the registration form
  2. Account activation - click the link in the e-mail
  3. Sign in - pilot panel
  4. GPS ID - assigned by the administrator; after sign-in it appears in the pilot panel under your callsign
  5. Traccar Client setup on the phone - once, before the first flight; details (server, settings) you will get in a message from the administrator in the pilot panel
  6. Briefing in the panel: choose event and route, download the map (PDF)
  7. Additionally by discipline:
    • Basic3D - enter declared flight altitude AMSL (ft)
    • PrecisionCup / Precision Pro - enter SP time (UTC), TAS and wind, generate the flight plan and download the PDF
  8. Click ACTIVATE FLIGHT in the panel - before start; make sure Traccar Client is running
  9. Flight - fly the route; the tracklog is recorded after you pass the start gate (SP)
  10. Live tracking - live.jdaviation.pl (REAL livetracking)
  11. End of route - if the flight is valid, the system usually finishes automatically and computes the score. If auto-finish does not run, use FINISH FLIGHT in the pilot panel. After you click, the system computes the score or shows the error reason.
  12. Result and analysis - find your flight under FLIGHTS in the pilot panel. Flight details show full analysis (map with route and tracklog, altitude profile, scores). For public events your result goes to the ranking table on the results page (REAL results).

SIM Account

A SIM account is for pilots training in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020-2024). The JD Aviation SIM PC app connects the simulator to the system; the score is computed from the tracklog. Registration and the pilot panel are free.

  1. Registration (SIM type) - fill in the registration form
  2. Account activation - click the link in the e-mail
  3. Sign in - pilot panel
  4. Download JD Aviation SIM from the pilot panel and install it on the PC (once). If Windows shows a blue screen, click More info and Run anyway. The program is safe; it comes from the official link in the pilot panel.
  5. Start Microsoft Flight Simulator on the same computer
  6. Start JD Aviation SIM and sign in.
  7. Preparation in the pilot panel (website):
    • choose event and route
    • download the map (PDF).
    • for PrecisionCup / Precision Pro - enter SP time (UTC), TAS and wind, generate the flight plan and download the PDF.
  8. In the SIM app:
    • choose the same event and route as in the panel
    • additionally:
      • Basic3D - enter altitude AMSL (ft)
      • PrecisionCup / Precision Pro - enter the same data as in the pilot panel (SP, TAS, wind) and generate the flight plan in the app.
  9. Click ACTIVATE FLIGHT in the SIM app - before start; MSFS must be running and connected (SimConnect)
  10. Flight in MSFS - fly the route; the SIM app shows a UTC clock; the tracklog is recorded after you pass the start gate (SP)
  11. Live tracking - tracking.jdaviation.pl (SIM livetracking)
  12. After the finish gate (FP) - FINISH FLIGHT in the SIM app. Find your flight under FLIGHTS in the pilot panel. Flight details show full analysis (map with route and tracklog, altitude profile, scores). For public events your result goes to the ranking table on the results page (SIM results).
